Charitable Work
At Leafield C.E. Primary School, we believe in nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts of our children. One of the cornerstones of our community ethos is teaching our young children the value of compassion, generosity, and social responsibility. Through various charitable initiatives, our children actively engage in giving back to the community, learning important life skills, shaping them into conscientious and caring individuals. These experiences not only enrich their lives but also bring positive change to those in need, demonstrating that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.
Children in Need: 17th November 2023
Our children enthusiastically participated in a "Crazy Colour Day" to support the Children in Need charity. With wild and imaginative clothes, they brought a burst of creativity and fun to the school. Each child made a donation to join in the event, collectively raising funds for the cause. This initiative not only allowed them to express their individuality but also reinforced the importance of community spirit and generosity in helping those less fortunate.
Christingle - 5th December 2023
Our children were filled with joy and wonder as they participated in the precious Christingle event at church. Holding their beautifully crafted Christingle oranges, graced with candles, dried fruits, and red ribbons, they experienced the warmth and significance of this cherished tradition. The glow of the candlelight and the sense of community left a lasting impression as well as on those of the parents that attended. This event not only brought them closer to the essence of Christmas but also strengthened their sense of belonging and spiritual connection.
Christmas Jumper Day: 8th December 2023
Our children joyfully embraced the festive season by participating in "Christmas Jumper Day" to raise funds for Save the Children. Adorned in colourful and cheerful Christmas jumpers, they brought a wave of holiday cheer to the school. Each child contributed a donation to wear their festive attire, and together, they raised a significant amount for charity. This event not only celebrated the season of giving but also instilled in our children the value of helping those in need during Christmastide.
Red Nose Day: 15th March 2024
Our children recently took part in a heartwarming initiative to raise life-changing funds to help end the cycle of poverty and ensure children are safe, healthy, educated and empowered across the U.S. and around the world. On a "Wear Red Day" at school, they donned vibrant red outfits and accessories, each contributing a small donation to the cause. Through this simple yet impactful act, they raised significant funds to help provide essential resources for less fortunate children. This event not only highlighted the power of collective effort but also taught our children the importance of empathy and generosity in making a difference in the lives of others.
