Prayer
At Leafield C.E. Primary School, prayer forms part of our daily act of collective worship. We recognise that prayers can only have a religious significance for some, but they have the potential to give spiritual insights to all.
Our School Prayer
Our School Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that we are loved,
So that we can be kind in our actions to others,
Be curious in our learning,
And confident in who we are!
Amen
Be kind, be curious, be you!
Our Lunchtime Prayer
For good food,
And good company,
We thank you, Lord,
Amen
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
Forever and ever,
Amen
Both adults and children lead prayer at our school; we also recognise that prayer does not have to be spoken, and we often use silence to reflect upon our thoughts and feelings.
Each class in our school has access to a reflection area, designed to provide a consistent and recognisable space for quiet time. These areas are uniformly set up to ensure that, no matter where they are in the school, children have a familiar and comforting place to reflect and find peace. This uniformity helps reinforce a sense of stability and community across all classes.
In addition, we have a special prayer book where our children can contribute their heartfelt prayers. These prayers are shared and can become part of others' reflections as well. This practice encourages a sense of community and mutual support amongst our children, fostering a collective spirit of faith and empathy.
