Our Church

Our beautiful church was built in 1859-60 to a design by Sir George Gilbert Scott, one of a trio of eminent Victorian architects. The original spire was rebuilt in 1865 and further shortened in 1934. Even so, the church is visible for many miles around and is a much loved local landmark.

As a school, we celebrate many cherished festivals in our beloved church, including Eastertide, Christmas, and the Leavers' Service. During these special times, the church comes alive with the vibrant spirit of our school community. At Eastertide, the children participate in reflective services, learning about renewal and hope through stories and songs. Christmas brings a joyful celebration, with the church filled with carols, nativity plays, and the warm glow of candlelight, reminding everyone of the season's true meaning. The Leavers' Service, a poignant and heartfelt occasion, which marks the transition of our oldest children as they prepare to embark on new journeys. These gatherings in the church not only strengthen our faith but also foster a sense of unity, tradition, and continuity within our school community.
