What does it look like in EYFS?

In Early Years, children develop an understanding of coding skills in many contexts, for example, following maps, recipes or instructions, and have opportunities to apply these in programming contexts, for example, using programmable robots (BeeBots). They use graphics software to create pictures, making choices and exploring the effects of changing colour, brush size, texture, etc. Teachers introduce the concept og internet search engines as a tool for enquiry. Children are encouraged to ask questions and explore tyes of results (e.g web pages, images, videos).

Strong links are made between technology and PSHE to begin to develop healthy habits and an awareness of the effects of screen time.
